Claiming a business that you own on LocalArea.com is a quick and easy process.

If you haven’t already done so, you will need to create an account with LocalArea.com in order to claim your business. To create an account, please Register by providing your name and email address. Once registered, log into your account and you are ready to move forward with claiming your business.

Finding your Business

Once logged in, you’ll first need to find your business page on LocalArea.com.

Option 1 - Search

On the LocalArea.com home page, you can search for your business by name, by location, or by category. Simply type your location into the ‘city/state’ field and/or type your business name or category into the ‘business search’ field, as seen below:

Option 2 - Browsing

You can also click on the Browse Businesses link, to see an alphabetical listing of all businesses on LocalArea.com, as seen below:

From this page, you can use the letters at the top to sort businesses by the first letter of the business name.

Claiming your Business

Once you locate your business you are ready for the next steps in claiming your business.

Step 1

From either the search list or browse list, you can click on the Claim this Business link found to the right of the page, above the Suggest an Edit link as seen below:

Once you click the Claim this Business link, you will be redirected to the Pricing page where you can select the subscription level that’s right for your business.

Step 2

Once you select a subscription level, you will need to confirm ownership of your claimed business. This is accomplished through a code which LocalArea will send to the phone number we have on record for the business you are claiming.

Be sure to follow the instructions carefully as the code will timeout and there is a limit to the number of wrong attempts the system will accept before voiding the code.

Once you have verified yourself as the business owner, there are two potential next steps depending on the plan you have selected, free or paid.

Step 3 - Free Plan

If you have selected a free plan for this business, you will see your business listed in your dashboard under My Businesses.

Step 3 - Paid Plan

If you have selected a paid plan, you will be redirected to the LocalArea.com payment page where you can enter your payment details and make a payment.

Promotional Code: If you have a promotional code, enter your code into the box then click Apply and your discount will automatically appear.

After you enter any promotional codes, you can enter your payment details in the boxes as required. See below example form:

If you have previously made a purchase from LocalArea.com and chose to save your payment details, they will appear automatically for use.

Once your payment is processed, a successful payment screen will appear confirming your purchase.

Step 4

Once you’ve claimed your business and purchased your subscription (if applicable) the final step is to verify your business has been linked to your account. Log into your Dashboard and you should see your claimed business appear under My Businesses if you have successfully claimed your business.
